When I told friends that we were going to Niagara Falls for the first time, they all said that we should not miss Niagara on the Lake. The lake in question is Lake Ontario, and it will always be its name for us!

It was a beautiful day. The trip took only about 30 minutes and we enjoyed the scenery. We checked into the Prince of Wales hotel and it was so charming that I have to share some pictures. Our room had a fireplace and a stepstool to get into the bed!

We explored the town and even though we are into fall, the flowers were still just spectacular.

Just some of the sights in the town! The hat shop was just amazing. This is only one of the many walls of hats they had there.

We had dinner in the hotel and it was one of the best dinners we had on the trip.

And in the morning we headed out to the Hotel Fauchere in Milford PA. It was a long trip to get there but we will stay there overnight before going back home to Long Beach Island so we don’t have to do it all in one day.

The town of Milford is quite small and it didn’t take us long to walk through the town. We did come upon a group that was playing music so we sat there to listen to the band and a really good singer – mostly 70’s tunes – but also a great rendition of Mack the Knife!

Well, this meal in the Bar Louis at Hotel Fauchere was also delicious! No room for dessert.

We headed out after breakfast for the 3 hour trip back home – it was a really wonderful getaway and I would recommend any of the hotels and adventures!
